Steve Ashmore PH.D, MS-MH, SAC, LPC

I am a Psychotherapist specializing in PTSD, addiction, trauma, depression, anger, anxiety and relationship issues. I am also involved in directing, organizing, developing, and directing Soft Landing Transition Services which provides safe, sober housing for people in the community. for the past seven years.

I am a Vietnam combat veteran with degrees in teaching, administration and mental health counseling. I am also a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor and a licensed Professional Counselor, Psychotherapist. I have seen the trauma of war first hand and experienced the despair of having his son die at an early age. I have spent the last twelve years working closely with veterans and others who experience trauma, substance abuse, and post traumatic stress disorder.

I interned at the Tomah Veteran’s hospital and the Dunn County jail as a mental health counselor in training. I have worked with the Dunn County diversion court and Arbor Place Recovery Center as a mental health counselor. I am also one of the primary drivers for the development of Soft Landing Transition Services which operates a sober transition house in Menomonie since 2010..
Steve is nationally published and has presented throughout the United States on a number of topics regarding leadership, organizational development , and transition of people with addictions back into the community. He is a recipient of a Vietnam Veteran of the Year Award, a Mount Horeb Principal of the Year Award, and numerous other recognitions. He has lived in and served the Dunn County Area for the past twenty nine years.
