Steve Ashmore

PH.D, MS-MH, SAC, LPC

Im am a Psychotherapist  specializing in PTSD, addiction, trauma, depression, anger, anxiety and relationship issues.  I am also involved in directing, organizing, developing, and directing Soft Landing Transition Services which provides safe, sober housing for people in the community. for the past seven years.

I am a Vietnam combat veteran with degrees in teaching, administration and mental health counseling. I am also a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor and a licensed Professional Counselor, Psychotherapist. I have seen the trauma of war first hand and experienced the despair of having his son die at an early age. I have spent the last twelve years working closely with veterans and others who experience trauma, substance abuse, and post traumatic stress disorder.

I interned at the Tomah Veteran’s hospital and the Dunn County jail as a mental health counselor in training. I have worked with the Dunn County diversion court and Arbor Place Recovery Center as a mental health counselor. I am also one of the primary drivers for the development of Soft Landing Transition Services which operates two sober transition houses in Menomonie.

 

Steve is nationally published and has presented throughout the United States on a number of topics regarding leadership, organizational development , and transition of people with addictions back into the community. He is a recipient of a Vietnam Veteran of the Year Award, a Mount Horeb Principal of the Year Award, and numerous other recognitions. He has lived in and served the Dunn County Area for the past nineteen years.
